Archbishop Fulton Sheen, spread the word about the World Mission Rosary, with its unique five colors. The colors are on which to focus our prayers: to honor the work of missions, conversions, and world peace, with emphasis on the Earth's regions and gifts. Color Green represents Africa. We reflect on the gift of Hope. It is the color of nature, the care we need to show to each other as we live on this planet, and the efforts of the people who provide for our daily needs. We pray that the gift of Hope may be sustained in the hearts of all African people. Color Red represents the Americas. We reflect on the Communion of Goods. The Western Hemisphere has seen a growth of the Christian church; many Christians have shed their blood for the spread of the Gospel; the goods received need to be shared. We pray that this Communion of Goods may become reality. Color White represents Europe. We reflect on the gift of Unity. The history of Europe has been a struggle to go beyond divisions, to become one in the Lord. The Pope invites us to complete the wish of Jesus that one day “there will be one Shepherd, one Flock.” We pray for the gift of Unity in the world and in the church. Color Blue represents Oceania. We reflect on the gift of Harmony. The islands of Oceania treasure the beauty of creation, the deep blue oceans with their majesty and mystery. We pray this decade of the Mission Rosary for the gift of Harmony in ourselves, hoping that more peoples may come to know the Gospel. Color Yellow represents Asia. We reflect on the virtue of Wisdom. Asian people carry within themselves the gift of meditation and contemplation. The mission fields of Asia are endless. Their vision of a better future inspires all humanity. We pray that the gift of Wisdom may inspire people to embrace the Gospel of Jesus. |
