Second Joyful Mystery

The First Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation - African painting of Mary and JesusFirst Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation

And coming to Mary, the Angel said, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you." … "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High … Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." (see Luke 1:26-38).

This is the day of our redemption in Christ. The Angel Gabriel introduces us to the Virgin, the elect among all creations, the object of divine gifts, who is full of grace and mother of the Incarnate Word. She is a masterpiece of the divine majesty; she’s a new creature of the wisdom and love of God. Mary bridges the marvelous works of the created and of the heavenly world. (Blessed Guido M. Conforti)

Green Color: Let us pray for Africa.  That the good news of the birth of Jesus may reach all the nations of the African continent, who suffer the daily hardships of wars and violence. May they come to believe in God, our common Father, who wants peace for all brothers and sisters in Christ.
