Fifth Joyful Mystery: The Finding of our Lord in the TempleFifth Joyful Mystery: The Finding of our Lord in the Temple

After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it… After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. (Luke 2:43, 46)

Jesus does not ask permission from his mother Mary, for the call to discipleship and apostolic life does not depend on the values of this world. Joseph and Mary refrain from weeping for the lost child, and they go searching for him among relatives and friends, and retrace their steps back to Jerusalem. We will be like them whenever we lose sight of Christ. Yet, how many souls do not heed the Gospel message for long months and years!  (Blessed Guido M. Conforti)

Yellow Color: Let us pray for Asia: that the vast continent of Asia, who first received Jesus, the Word made flesh, may again find the way to Christ. May the peoples of Asia receive in Christ the light and hope for their lives.
