Fifth Luminous Mystery: The Institution of the Eucharist

While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many." (Mark 14:22)

Through the Sacrament of the Eucharist we become one with Christ, one body, one blood with Christ. At the Eucharistic banquet we experience the strong sentiments of building the universal family, a duty of all Christians… The Eucharist is the most effective means Jesus gave to the church so that all peoples may come to know him… From the Eucharist, missionaries contemplate the fruits of their labors. The Eucharist is the most perfect expression of the love of Christ Jesus towards humanity. (Bl. Conforti)

Yellow Color: Let us pray for Asia. That millions of brothers and sisters may be nourished by the heavenly Bread and daily food. May our nourishment of Jesus in the Eucharist open our hearts with love and compassion for the human family.
