First Sorrowful Mystery: The Agony of our Lord in the Garden
Everything is marvelous in the life of the God-made-flesh. He brings life out of death, glory out of suffering, triumph out of apparent defeat. It is for this reason that the passion and death of our divine Savior, instead of being a scandal for us, increases our faith and helps form in us one of the most convincing reasons of his divine mission. That all nationalities, cultures and races, who often experience neglect and death, may find in the sufferings of Christ the strength needed through their trials.
