Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus - Stainglass window of St. Francis Xavier - JapanThen the criminal said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." He replied to him, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." ... Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit"; and when he had said this he breathed his last. (Luke 23:42-46)

A Saint wrote: This is Love! Jesus’ first words on the cross are for those who crucified him: “Father, forgive them; they know not what they do.” The second sentence brings comfort to the criminal hanging besides Jesus. “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” He is the Son of God, our life, our hope, our refuge. Let us embrace his wounded side; may his divine Blood descend upon us to bring us purity, holiness, and goodness. May the blood of our Savior poured out for us, bring salvation. (Blessed Guido M. Conforti)

Yellow Color: Let us pray for Asia. That the local churches of Asia may find the most apt expressions to share the message of Christ, the Savior of the world. May all Christians witness to Jesus Christ through their lives of service and holiness.
