How Could You Not Stand Up?
He needed a leader
To conduct His people;
Chose an old man.
Then Moses stood up.
He needed a rock
For the foundations of his edifice;
Chose a renegade.
Peter then stood up.
He needed a face
To tell all of his Love;
Chose a prostitute.
It was Mary Magdalen.
He needed a witness
To cry out his message:
Chose his persecutor.
And Paul of Tarsus stood up.
Christ today, as always,
Needs genuine persons;
He has chosen you.
Even if you tremble,
How could you not stand up?
