Mexico Theology: Sharing the Gifts of Each Other

exico City is a large metropolis, with some 20 million people. The theology house is located in the South of the city, and our community is composed of 15 students hailing from Mexico, Indonesia, DR Congo, Cameroon and Brazil. While 5 of them just arrived, and so focusing their studies in the Spanish language, the others attend the theology courses at a University which is about half hour drive.
On weekends, the students frequent various parishes, taking leadership roles in catechetical and pastoral activities. We also follow a youth group and a missionary group which meet monthly at our house. But don’t forget Fridays afternoons: they are dedicated to sport activities!
There are two Xaverians who follow the formation of the theology students since July 2004:
Fr. Mario Gallia and Fr. Alfredo Spigarolo. We used to be three, but
Fr. Javier Peguero was recently elected Provincial Superior of the Xaverians in Mexico, and so moved to Guadalajara.
How can we describe out international community?
Just look at us to learn something about ourselves. Maryono, Adilson and
Pierre keep the community alive with their music, jokes and stories. Felix focuses on Bible studies, and participates with his laughter.
Cesare plays soccer, and succeeds in helping the opposing team win. Claude, instead, would play soccer any time, even during school!
Yakobus is an expert in Indonesia dance, while Manuel with his guitar, teaches music and chords to those willing to learn the instrument.
Bonane is the electrician of the community, and never misses a spark. Bosco is our news reporter, keeping abreast with international news.
Bernardus loves volleyball and basketball, and has a collection of bracelets, chains, rosary beads and rings which he in turn gives away to friends.
Over all, if we put together the gifts of everyone, you will see… a valuable community!
